Celebrate Mother's Day with Flowers Winchester, Virginia

Sending Mother's Day Flowers to Winchester, Virginia on Mother's Day. Don't forget to let your Mother know that you are thinking of her and that you love her. During the Victorian Era, sending flowers and floral arrangements was a means of communication. A particular type and color of flower allowed individuals to send secret messages to one another. The language of flowers is sometimes called floriography.

The Carnation is possibly the most popular Mother's Day flower. A Pink carnation is perfect as it means a woman's love and says "you are always on my mind". The Red carnation says love. If your mother has passed, you should carry a white carnation to place on her grave site.

It is springtime here in Virginia with Tulips and Daffodils are everywhere. The Red Tulip is a declaration of love while a Yellow Tulip means Hopeless love.

Below is a photograph of apple blossom buds on one of our apple trees. A sure sign of Spring. Living in the country, Spring means the end of Winter and a fresh new beginning. Green fields, Robins are back, all the animal Mothers with their cute little babies and Flowers are everywhere.

Finding That Special Mother's Day Flower & Gift Winchester, Virginia

Mother's Day is a special time. Your Mother tries to take care of everyone throughout the year. She deserves this one day, devoted to her, so she can feel extra special? It seems to get harder each year to figure out what to give her. You want to make sure that your gift is unique and very special.

If your Mother is anything like my mother, don't bother asking her what she wants for Mother's Day. She will always say, "Save your money. I don't need anything. You don't have to get me a gift." For goodness sake, I know I don't "have to" get her anything. But, I want to give her something nice. I bet if you forget or do not remember her on Mother's Day, she would be very hurt, whether she showed it or not. I always like to surprise my Mother with gifts that I think she will like. A unique gift that she would not ordinarily buy for herself. Finding the perfect gift is not the easiest thing to do.  It can actually be quite exhausting!

Here are some Mother's Day gift ideas:

1. Give her a family photograph in a nice frame. Mothers love photos of their children and grandchildren.

2. Write a beautiful, handwritten letter to enclose with her Mother's Day card. Let her know how special she is to you. Remind her of a funny story of something that happened to you when you were young.

3. Pick out a box of chocolates to go with her beautiful flowers.

4. Make a small family photo album for her.

I'll save the best for last. This is my favorite gift as it is one that can last all year long.

5. Make a little gift coupon or a gift coupon booklet that you can enclose with her card and her Mother's Day Flowers. Each gift coupon is redeemable throughout the year for a specific service that you can perform to help your Mother. It could be to take her to lunch or dinner. It could be to wash her car, clean her house, cook her dinner, take her shopping or to a movie. With these little coupons, you can show your mother how much you appreciate her throughout the year.

No matter what you choose to get for your mother, just make sure it is something special. We should all strive to show our moms how important and appreciated they are. Let your Mother know that you are thinking of her by finding the perfect Mother's Day gift.

Mother's Day is Celebrated Around the World

Mother's Day is Celebrated on Different Days Around the World.  The dates differ throughout the year because this special day has many different origins. In most countries, Mother's Day is a relatively new holiday as it has evolved in North America and Europe.

In Britain Mothering Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent. It's the day when children give their mother a card, flowers or a gift to show their appreciation for all her hard work.

The French call their day Fête des Mères. It takes place in May and was inaugurated by Napoleon and made official in 1950.

The British tradition of Mother's Day was adopted by many African countries. There are many festivals and events celebrating mothers within the many cultures on the African continent.

Mother's Day started in Japan to honor the birthday of Empress Kojun, mother of Emperor Akihito during the Showa period. Now the holiday is a heavily marketed concept, and people typically give flowers such as carnations and roses as gifts.

In China, Mother's Day is becoming more and more popular. The Carnation is the popular flower given on Mother's Day.

The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. Mother's Day was inspired by the British day and was imported by social activist Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. It was originally intended to unite women against war. In 1870, she wrote the Mother's Day Proclamation as a call for peace and disarmament.

Roses are a Perfect Mother's Day Flower

The Rose can send many messages depending on the color. Red is possibly the most popular color. A Red Rose means True Love. Red can also imply passion and romantic love. Combining Red and White Roses together symbolize Unity and warmth of the heart. Putting Red and Yellow Roses together signify Joy, Happiness and Excitement, while a Burgundy Rose is Unconscious Beauty.

My absolute favorite Rose is the Red Miniature Rose Plant. A plant that blooms lovely little roses can live in your home, on your desk or be planted outside where it can flourish year after year. A gift of love that is a constant reminder of a special Mother's Day.

A Pink Rose signifies grace. Light Pink means Desire, Passion, Joy of Life, Youth and Energy. The Dark Pink Rose symbolizes Gratitude.

The White Rose is for Eternal Love, Innocence, Virtue, and Purity.

To symbolize Mystery and attaining the impossible send a Blue Rose.

Yellow is the Rose of friendship while Coral or Orange Roses signify Desire and Passion.

The Thornless Rose is Love at First Sight.

So many colors and so many meanings. Choose your message with love.
